Mobile meets #dbhackathon

07.12.2019: Tech-Talks mit Euch und Mobimeo

How to make everyday mobility fun through coding. Seriously!

Mobimeo meets #DBHackathon

#dbhackathon. Why should you take part?

The #dbhackathon is open to all women and men who are shaping the future of mobility today – developers, designers, dispatchers, drivers and all those who want to use their own data projects to make local and long-distance public transport more convenient, environmentally friendly and digitally networked with other shared services. You can spontaneously present your own projects or collaborate on others. 24 straight hours of high-tech creativity – while having fun and enjoying the ride.

What can you expect from the Techtalks?

Within the scope of our TechTalks @DBHackathon you have the opportunity to learn first hand from programmers and developers. Meet the makers – for example the three cool guys from Mobimeo.

What the hack is Mobimeo doing?

Let‘s face it: The hurdles to create a new cool mobility app are big. Not every app delivers what it promises. Mobimeo wants to set new standards by developing app solutions for mobility providers. Currently they are focusing on two products called Companion and Mode. Why? Getting from A to B in a simple, fast and sustainable way should be the normal way to go.

Why their work matters?

Mobimeo are the techies, the enablers helping renowned transport- and sharing providers to smarten up their apps. Currently they are focusing on two products: Companion and Mode: Companion offers route search and overview, turn-by-turn live navigation, automatic contextual route updates, powered by machine learning. Mode combines public transport with sharing providers. The random forest algorithm for machine learning helps Mobimeo to suggest the best multimodal routes. Keen on seeing ticketing options integrated into mobility apps as well? No worries, they are on it.

What’s in for you?:

Mobimeo provides an honest behind-the-scenes-look into their mindset and the way they develop solutions. Hands on! Daryl (CPO), Nikita (3D maps) and Sergey (Engineering Lead) from Mobimeo will show you how they did it. How they are applying machine learning to make smart mobility happen. Why they are customer-focused engineers driven by product needs. And how they make cities more livable with the help of smart technologies.

Meet Mobimeo, Darryl Feldman

CPO Darryl has more than 20 years of experience in creating innovative products that serve human needs and have a meaningful purpose.

Sergey Burkov

Sergey is Engineering Lead, working with a cross-functional research team of backend-, mobile- and data science engineers. He has 13 years of experience building large distributed backend systems, which serve 50 Million users.
